Shield boss
#1
Hello,

We were wandering what legionary shield bossess (early second century a.d.) looked like.

Most reenactors use these "square plate" bossess, but would it also be ok to use round ones? Is there archeological evidence concerning the matter? Or were several types in use during this period....

Thanks,

though I know of only flat round bosses. The bosses that are curved, for a classical curved scutum, are rectanguler.
