Jotapata Site

I "overheard" Dan Peterson referring to his dig at Gamala and was wondering if the location of ancient Jotapata has been identified, as I've heard nothing of it. I'm assuming that the life of the settlement was ended with the Roman siege and not much has been built on top of it in subsequent centuries. <p></p><i></i>

I had planned to go there, after Gamala, but staying on at the excavation sucked up the time, and after getting permission from Shamyra to see the Gamala Roman helmet parts stored in Jerusalem (and subsequently discover the loricia sementatae parts!), I cancelled the rest of my explorations to go there. I believe Peter Connolly made it there though, and describes the site in his "Jews in the Time of Jesus" Oxford publication. Dan <p></p><i></i>
