Anyone selling Central Asian clothing in North America?

I'm looking into a generic Eastern Iranian kit that would work as Arsacid or earlier -- basically an undecorated jacket and boots of Skythian type (I already have trousers), and I'm wondering if anyone sells readymade versions, or is this an unrealistic hope?

I'd also be interested in knowing whether there is any evidence for lace-up boots like the Thrakians wore.  I know some peltasts wear Minnetonka moccasin boots and that would be an easy option, but I can't seem to find evidence for anything similar in Central Asia.

By chance, I just found an online clothier in Ramona, California. They go by the handle of Historic Enterprises and appear to make medieval and Dark age tunics, trousers, etc... and they will fill "custom orders." I need what you need-- an Iranian wrap-over kaftan as worn by the Pazyryk Yuezhi and Alans, and not too long. Perhaps you could send them photos of period examples. Just a thought.

In the absence of a good examination of extant examples it would seem to me that they had more-or-less the same structure as a karate gi, correct?

Anyone made your own pull-on boots?  I'm considering using this leather but I'm concerned that it will sag if the boots don't have laces.  (I do intend to put a strap around the ankle.)

I do see your concern. Those buffalo splits look quite thin, but maybe a strap like you intend might keep them from sagging.

Do you think a leather lining might help?  I do have some thin glazed lining, bought it for covering scabbards but it turned out to be too ugly for any use that leaves it visible...  ahem.

I think a lining is a good idea. It should decrease the suppleness. Check out a few old illustrations, because I think Persian boots were a little higher than Western Scythian ones.
