The backing is made of thick linen canvas.OK, same as mine, although I skipped the artificial sinew for a cotton thread. This is my first one, after all. Also I have use far less many scales, much larger ones too. Next time I'll change that - mine are too thick and tend to 'stand out' at curved sections such as the shoulders.
