I've read somewhere that the flag/standard was not just a spare tunic, but the tunic of a defeated enemy, as in the fresco you got your design from, there is a belt hanging just behind the tunic.<br>

My helmet is also big, and, like you say, it takes a lot of padding, which I've yet to get perfectly fit. Have you gotten it to sit comfortably without worrying about it fall off, or have you put a strap ring in the back?<br>

I know two of the helmets on display at Paestum have quite a bit more substantial feather-tubes; I can post a couple of pictures when I get home (or, if you can't wait, you can see a bunch of stuff from Paestum at<br>
