Greek helmet identification
#1
Having a discussion with a friend over this vase, early 5th century. Can someone help me identify the helmet? It looks Attic, yet I've never seen such a crest on something other than a Corinthian

You can "Google Image" "red pottery Athena" and see lots of images. The Attic helmet is often seen on images of the goddess. The archaic swan crest is one of many crests shown with the helmet. Have fun with the search!

Thanks! Apart from the iconographic images is there any evidence for attic helmets with Sean crest? Maybe for ceremony?
