I don't know if you're aware of it, but you've already been flanked. A writer surnamed 'Scott' (I think) has written a trilogy featuring Pantera. The last one of the series was called 'Eagle of the Twelth' and is set in Palestine at the time of the Judean revolt
In these books, he doesn't seem to be Jesus' dad, but he does have a number of up-and-downers with St Paul.
You might want to read these, to work out where your stoey diverges from hers.
