Greek and Roman Armour Day
#1
I have today received an e-mail from the Roman Society informing me (inter alia) of a Greek and Roman Armour Day to be held in London on the 20th July:
http://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/greek-and-...6?aff=eac2

It also mentions a Roman Archaeology Conference to be held in Rome in March 2016:

Don't forget to wear your armor to it Francis. I'm sure the lecturer will enjoy having a ridge helmet in the audience!

Now that would be something - I could attend in full kit and nod sagely in the background . . .

I wonder if our little party could be expanded?!

Is this for members only?

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, Merlot in one hand, Cigar in the other; body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming "WOO HOO, what a ride!

It doesn't appear to be. They don't ask you about membership when you register.

That's a pity. How about breaking your journey and dropping in for the afternoon session or part of it?

The journey through London will probably take as long as the journey from Gloucester to Margate! I'll see if I can park up in Bromley on the way back and then get the tube in for the afternoon.
