VJCL trip report
#1
Just as a brief event report, this past weekend was the Virginia Junior Classical League convention in Richmond, Virginia, attended by 2200 students and teachers. We had a much more prominent position and expanded space, so our three Roman, Greek and Celtic displays had breathing room and were all very successful. All five lectures were to standing room only crowds, but scheduling errors killed two sessions and too small rooms forced us to turn hundreds of students away. Nevertheless, we all were more popular than last year, civilians as well as military, and there is room to expand the lectures, particularly if I can get my hands on the students who put the agenda together.

Many thanks in particular to Andy Volpe, Quinton Johansen and Cheryl Boeckmann who traveled quite a distance to attend.
