Channel 5 here in the UK, are showing a four part series called 'Rome: The Worlds first Superpower'. It is a straightforward documentary with few frills presented by actor Larry Lamb who is the fascinated visitor rather than an acknowledged expert. Perhaps what is most interesting is that it covers periods not normally dealt with such as the early Republic and visits a few archaeological sites and excavations that perhaps you would not otherwise get to see.
Also of interest is that it shows re-enactors on parade in Rome itself, so presumably there are a few people known to RATers if not RATers themselves taking part.
Now, does anyone recognise the group who appear to be wearing Peplum epic dress from the 1960's? For a forthcoming project I would really like to know.
