I need not expand upon that. I certainly am trying to explain the iconographical evidence. This is not an idiosyncracy of a single sculptor; there are too many examples simply to ignore them. They demand an explanation and to dismiss them with the glib comment that the evidence is not a picture perfect representation of reality is, quite frankly, a cop out.
