Roman Origin Myths
#1
My understanding is that there is something like 25 versions of the origin myth. I am familiar with two of them: Aenas/Romulus and Evander. What are the other 23? Can anyone recommend a good book that covers this topic?

A bunch of criminals and outcasts from the cities ruled by the Greek tyrants in southern Italy are exiled and travel north. They set up camp on one of the trade routes through to northern Italy and start robbing travellers. They are very successful and settle on a few unwanted hills sticking out of a swamp, managing to fight off attempts by the locals to drive them out.
