Musculata for 5th century?
#1
A friend of mine wants to buy a musculata for 5th century. He told me I ask here cause he doesn't speak english and wants to know waht kind of musculata sould he use for 5th century.
I've seen a musculata in Arcadius Column but I don't know if in 5th century it was quite different to early times.
Thanks.

This may not be 5th but 4th century but it will give him an idea of what musculata looked liked on imperial statues:

Of course there's the late 4th century Amazonomachy Mosaic which shows a Cavalryman with a Koblenz Helmet and a Bronze or Gold Sheathed Muscle Cuirass:

I recommend he saves up a good bit of money and orders from Jeffrey Hildebrandt of Royal Oak Armory in Canada. He does his research and can make your friend a good Late Roman muscle cuirass. He made some of Comitatus' gear I know.
