Foreign Travel from Britain

I'm after some advice.

When attending shows abroad, what is the best way of getting members and vast quatities of tents and equipment to the event? I have possible shows at several locations in Europe, some no where near airports but really too far to drive. All advice appreciated.
Hi John,
You mean Archeon?

No alternative for the ferry and the car, for I fear the train would be rather expensive.

I know of some UK groups who travel by car as far away as Rome, but they are from Hampshire and not all the way up like you guys.
Btw, I've heard of ferry companies being difficult about the transport of weapons since 9/11, but I've no idea about the airlines.
When we went to Rome earlier this year we put all of our hard kit on a van which was kindly driven by members of Leg II Augusta under the English Channel, accross France and on to Italy. We packed our soft kit and cameras and headed over by aeroplane, as did most of the Second and met up with our kit again at the Circus Maximus (which, I discovered, is otherwise known as 'Circo Massimo'). As far as know, evryone and everything returned the same way it had come (apart from that which was involved in an accident in France, ensuring that Leg II did not have their tents in Rome).
