The Cyprian plague - victims found?
#1
In Thebes, archaeologists may have discovered remains of plague victims who died during the 'Cyprian plague' which may have hit the Roman empire c. 250-270 AD.
This pandemic was perhaps more an outbreak of smallbox rather than plague, but it weakened the empire both economically and military.
