Braided metal belts

I have a question for you reconstructionists out there: Is there any evidence the Romans used braided metal belts, such as braided tinned copper? Could this material be useful for straps inside a lorica, or a cingulum?
Thanks!

Hoo, never seen anything like this, I'm afraid. They DID do some fine jewelry in bronze, silver, or gold using fine chains with some pretty complex links, though I don't know if any could be called "braided". But not military gear, to my knowledge. Sorry about that!
