What Armor is this?
#1
I was thinking about this image here (a 5th century depiction of Christ) and was wondering: what do you think we're seeing in terms of the armor?

Could it be a form of misinterpreted lamellar, something like this Byzantine style Lamellae?

It seems that it was not important to the artist what kind of armour he is wearing but that it is a precious one.
So it could be lamellar as well as scale.
The narrow blue stripe on the torso could be a depiction of the officer's sash.

Thanks Decebalus.

I thought that too about the officer's sash, but judging by the style of the rest of the clothing he would try to differentiate better if it was, IMO.

It could be anything. It is a pity that medieval artists didn't do drawings with modern re-enactors in mind.

Almost nothing at all, as it is covered by the cloak. What we see are the pteryges, and we've discussed them plenty elsewhere.
