Pompeii Movie Review?

Looks like the movie isn't doing too well at the box office. Could anyone offer a review? I would rather not waste the money and time on a really bad movie.

I've heard it was alright from a buddy who's a big movie buff, but he's not a history nut so he does to see the movie as a Hollywood movie and enjoys it as such. I have a feeling as with all movies if you can look past historical problems and just enjoy it as a film ment to entertain the general masses it probably isn't too bad. Most reviews online I've seen give it on average 3/5 ratings.
