Nugent Marathon Corinthian analysis
#1
This is the first detailed study of the construction of a Corinthian that I've seen. I knew that the Greeks varied the thickness of their armour to make it more protective in the more vulnerable locations but the degree of variation in helmets surprised me. Thickness ranged from 10mm at the nasal to 0.82mm on the back of the skull. I'm looking forward to seeing what Matt comes up with for his replica.
