Where have those late roman helmet pics gone??
#1
Now that I am finally getting my late roman helmet together I am amazed and flumoxed that no amount of googling or searching RAT can find me the excellent fotos that I drolled over yesteryear
to wit
1)the close ups of the holes/ slots in the "ridge" when one of our learned number was suggesting that a flat plate crest was "keyed" into the helmet. It is something that I hope to achieve as I love the "gigantor" look.
2), Detailed shots of the nape guard where the slots?lack of strap slots are revealed, along with the type of plate attached to the buckle, rivets etc (though this is possibly a faked memory)
3) the helmet database. I knew it went down but was it not to return??

Forgive me if I ask questions that have been repetitiously asked before :-?

Hopefully I will be given some beneficial directions
regards

I'm trying to find a Database I use for Late Roman Helmets. Hold on.

The helmet database should come back, but I think Jasper lacks time or skilled volunteers to keep it up again.

Couple pics as requested to assist? Couple metal crest example close ups and some showing the slots in the ridge. Also some shots of the neck slots on some of the later helmets.

I recognize several of those. I want a (slightly modified) Aquileia Neckguard for my Concesti when I get it one day Big Grin The pattern, with a little modification, would go well with the rest of the helmet.
