What is the paving in the first picture meant to be? It looks like somewhere between cobblestone and a mosaic, but the former was not AFAIK known in the ancient world and the latter usually not used (an exception being the Place of the Corporations in Ostia).

In the 3rd and 4th image, the pavement should certainly be ordinary limestone slabs, but it looks more like marble.

I know I am nit-picking, but still. :-)
