I looked around for cardboard tubes, but the only ones I found were the "sonotube" concrete forms, and they were not very large diameter and the shipping barrels which were prohibitively expensive. I'm about to test a theory on using two layers of corrugated cardboard, formed around a barrel and glued in place. If that works and holds a curve, we'll probably go that route. Storage space will increase some, but I guess we can live with that. Sure would look cool.
Now to figure out a cheap, fast way to make some kind of helmet. That would be the utter top. We're starting to pick up a little money, so maybe we can use it for that sort of thing. Making a form and spray-on fiberglas seems like a good way, but that equipment is out of our reach until I win the lottery. I did get an email that I'd won the European Lottery, though, and all they want is my bank account number to send me the bazillion Euros. ;-)
