Camp Furniture

Last weekend I find out that my reenagting group "Heruli Seniors", Nead some furniturs for our camp. Specialy a table for the cook and the craftsman. We also mis shomthing to sit on.
We are reenagting 350-420 A.D. and 500-550 A.D.

Whot is there evedens for in a military camp?

Well, there are many possibilities.
For the "utterly authentic, completely documented gear" I can't really help much, because I don't know.

The function side of the equation means they should be strong enough for the function, but lightweight enough to get from here to there and back, and fold-able or disassemble-able enough for transport in a vehicle. So with that, here's some suggestions:

If you think about it, a stool is really just a smaller, shorter table.

We also picked up some "director's chairs" someone had discarded because their canvas had rotted (always happens eventually) and just removed the fold-down arms and the back, made new seats, and take them with us everywhere.

You can see how it works: just unscrew the hinged parts on the sides.
