parade helmets

Ennius,
Good to meet up with you again in Rome. My helmet was made by White Rose Armoury near Chesterfield. At the time (five years ago) it cost me £305 but as eight months elapsed between ordering it along with a £100 deposit and actually recieving it I had plenty of time to save up the remaining £205, even though I was only earning £4.50 an hour at the time. I had the option of silver rosettes and browband, as on the original from Bescancon but opted for the cheaper brass instead. It is hand made in three pieces (left and right sides and neck guard) and welded together. Dave from White Rose said that he could have raised it from a single piece of steel but I decided against that due to the £1000+ price that would have generated. Perhaps when I win the lottery I will buy a one piece helmet.
