Salve,

After months of hard work and many problematic situations, my "selfmade" helmet Gallic D nears completion.

Just one problem left to overcome! How are the rivets which secure the cheekpiece-hinges and the silver rosets manufactured? I just can't figure it out. Even seeing the rivets up close (behind the glas of the display) at my visit to Mainz last weekend did not really help. They seem to look like a modern bolt with eight sides with a layer of email on top.
Is it one piece or is it made of several pieces soldered together?

Your help wil be greatly appreciated, and of course photos of the helmet will follow!
