Postponement of Chester Roman Festival until 2014
#1
This message is being posted at the request of Paul Harston of Roman Tours Ltd:

Dear Friends,

It is with great regret that we must announce the postponement of Chester Roman Festival 2013. Grosvenor Park, the festival venue, is currently undergoing an extensive refurbishment in order to better provide for event activity. Due to very bad weather in the UK this winter the start of this work has been delayed and is now set to start at the end of March, which means the park will not be ready in time for this year's festival.

The good news is that this work will provide first class events facilities and better laid out infrastructure including electrical power, water and toilets. We wish our guests to attend a high quality festival, so we have decided to postpone the Roman Festival until June 2014 when we will have an excellent venue.

We have worked very hard to find an alternative to postponement. We sincerely hope our decision does not cause you any inconvenience and that you will support the festival again in 2014. Good luck with your Events across the empire this Year 2013.

Best Regards,

Chester Roman Festival team

A pity to hear. Hopefully this will give Paul some more time for his fortress project and make the 2014 edition even better.

Well that is a four letter word.

I'm looking forward to 2014!

How disappointing for everyone concerned as I'm sure lots of planning has already taken place.

Let's hope 2014 can stay in the schedule.
