Dutch History
#1
Of course it was a grave error to continue history after Antiquity. We had to live through all those useless Medieval and Renaissance periods, not to mention a silly Age of Religious Wars, an Age of Reason, a Napoleonic Age, a boring nineteenth century, and so on.

Nevertheless, I wrote a small book about that unnecessary part of history, focusing on my own country and hometown, Amsterdam. There is a comparative chapter on the history of Prussia, France, and England. You may like it. It's now online here.
