Did hastati wear anything like a subarmalis?
#31
An excellent discussion gentlemen - I've enjoyed reading it. But in an attempt to get this back onto the specific topic, can we now put all that information into the context of the question? Is there any evidence of hastati wearing something similar or is the gist of the arguments put forward that it would more than likely be a sound assumption?

The pectorals probably had liners just like Greek plate armour. They would have been worn over regular tunics just like Greek plate armour.
