Trying to find out more on this ring.
#1
Hello,

A friend of mine Was asking if I could help him find out more about this ring.

"It was recovered from an archeological dig on the old Antonian Wall in Britain. If my info is
correct it's from the Vindolinda area. Could be wrong, but that is what I'm told.

I was wondering about the engraving on the face, does it have any particular symbolism
or meaning in the Roman World of either the Army or the Roman Britans?"

Can Anyone help?

Titus.

Is there any more on the provenance of the ring? How was it found and what is the purpose of your friend's enquiry? Have you asked for information from the Portable Antiquities Scheme?
