Image Recreating an Ancient Greek Seaport
#1
Hi all,

As much for my own amusement as anything else, I'm gathering images which illustrate sections of JACT's Reading Greek course.

In my present focus, I've not been able to find anything online that really hits the spot. I'm after a view of a seaport (preferably in colour but that's not an issue) of the Peloponnesian War era give a century or two either way.

If anyone recognizes "τὸ πλοῖόν ἐστιν ἐν Βυζαντίῳ," you'll know which bit I'm looking at.

Are there any avid collectors or appreciators of ancient harbour views out there who might be able to help?

Cheers

Many thanks Stefanos!

That's a rather spectacular view of the Piraeus - the sheds are, I assume, from the naval dockyards.

Cheers

Hi Pyrgopolynices

Oh, my hat and coat!!!!!

That Decimus view of Alexandria harbour is unbelievable!!!

Curse search engines and their blind spots. That CGI is brilliant.

Thank you!!!
