First I would like to state that the only evidence available for what Iceni shield designs might look like are period Iceni coins and a few metal objects. Color shape size of the pictured shields is highly conjectural. I am building these shields for the Clash of Iron event in March 2013 and 2014 (Lafe).
The wood bosses are purely a cheap alternate to metal explained within the context of the event scenario as an expedient necessitated by the lack of time and metal.
