Hanwei Pugio

Is it time to resurrect the discussion on this pugio? Change the blade, add a rivet to the round terminal - done.

If you dislike the etched decoration, is it also time to lighten up? I feel it gets a bad rap for the wrong reasons. Nobody's complained about the use of gold to emulate brass on the Deepeeka Type B

Wouldn't changing the blade be too big of a job when you can buy a regular pugio for much cheaper?

Not if you fancy an Oberammergau pugio hanging off your frogs. I'd faint at how much it'd cost to have one made by the usual suspects.

Problem with the Hanwei ist that the proportions are all wrong. It´s too short and too wide.

Does anyone have the dimensions of this dagger? Length, width of scabbard and pugio. It does look too short and squat in the photo.

I do like the look of it tho, almost bought one last year until I read that it was all wrong. Sad

It is actually nicely balanced, and fits the hand nicely too.
It is a little smaller and wider than the deepeeka plain pugio I think.
Mine is at home tho' so can't get dimensions.
