This could easily go in Greek section, regarding one's views on the Byzantine empire I guess, or off topic. I'm unsure. Just though I'd drop by to post this interview. Forgive me if it has already been posted.
Brown, a onetime student of Momigliano, has been instrumental in the study of late antiquity. You've probably directly read him. If not you've certainly read him indirectly. His scholarship is a wonderful synthesis of the French annales school, anthropologically informed, with the British emphasis on numismatics, epigraphy and so on. Very readable even if it makes me grouchy. Anyway as a major figure in modern scholarship it ought to be worth a listen. I know a few of you love late antiquity. :wink:
