this is a my reproduction of a late roman spatha,handle in ivory of reindeer,blade in carbon steel c70 tempered 55 hrc.The scabbard is covered whit vegetable tinned leather and the slide and point are in bone.

It is not the reproduction of a specific repert,but all the reperts(grip,else,pommel,slade,point)are the reproduction of a repert that was find.In my opinion is good reproduct the complete reperts that are very rare(fulham,leiden,tiberio,guttman etc etc)but we have to remember that there are 1000 of reperts that are alone....elses,pommels,slides,pints...and they would like to have a new life.
I will be the happy owner and hope to see the piece for real very soon! Yes, it will be for a third c. impression. And of course I will look for a suitable place to put it on display, as it is so beautiful!
As Pierpaolo said, it is composed of pieces from various finds. I think the result is a very convincing and beautiful late spatha.
