Surgical Scalpel Help
#1
Does anyone have good photos and dimensions of surgical scalpels used by Roman surgeons.

I know that there are some completely in iron or bronze or a combination of the two where the handle is bronze and the blade is in iron.

I have to reproduce one for a special gift in the next two weeks.

Any help is highly appreciated

You should ask Marco, who goes by the screen name of MDF here.

He has done some jaw-dropping work. Look at this thread or this one.

Thanks David for the links. Those are indeed gorgeous only that I do not see a scalpel in that kit which is what I am looking for.

Hi Paolo,
but you're looking for some particular model?
If you like in the next few days I can send some pictures taken from my books.

Meanwhile I enclose a couple of pictures of my kit ... here are 2 simple scalpel thath I've made.
