He's the smallest because I wanted to put a crest on one of the milites, and the late period legionary would not have had one.

Well, I admit my sources are 20 or more years old, but none of the late Roman legionaires depicted in them had a helmet suitable for fashioning a crest that would work. Besides, I kind'a prefer the earlier look.

I'm glad you all seem to like 'Miles Romanus'. I admit, he looks rather good next to the 'matryoshka gladiatorum' (sic) I did earlier. Any suggestions for my next one (ancient Greeks perhaps)?
