The palace of Boukoleon
#1
I would like to know more about how this most famous of the Constantinoples palaces actually looked like and how it was decorated.I know about marble statues of lion and bull in figt and other lions which are usually given credit for the palace name(but recently I've Discovered opinion that the name actually comes from the wells standing nearby...)and byzantium 1200 website,But only very little more about it.I realize that this is not a military theme, but I would be very grateful for any information about this subject or if someone will guide me in the right direction.

The pace is first mentioned in 800 AD. It was initially a port with imperial amenities.
Later it was joined to the Grand Palace. The name comes from an archaic statue complex of a lion vs bull fight that initially dominated the dock.

At Palaiologoi times it was made a prison. The Turks later built a housing complex in its place.
