Re-Enactment and the Kriegswaffengesetz
#1
I do all my appearances in Germany and would like to know how carrying my gear around sizes up to German rules and regulations?

I have been stopped once and just about got away with it as everything was blunt and I had Lead knobs to slide over the points of my various weapons of mass destruction.

What you can get away with in the UK and America is different to that in Germany so it would be interesting to know for me at least what the views are here.

Cheers

Hi! The Kriegswaffengesetz does not apply to swords or spears etc. It is for machine-guns, tanks, grenades etc.
The regular Waffengesetz can be seen here:

Thanks Christian,
The customs guy with no sense of humour must have been refering to this one.

"§ 42a Verbot des Führens von Anscheinswaffen und bestimmten tragbaren
Gegenständen"

So a locked box in the car is probably advisable as just about everything we carry is over the 12cm limit. That should get round most of it.

Thankyou sir.

Cheers
