How do you store your kit?

Out to dinner?

Gosh - you all seem so organised. Mine is exploded all over the house!

My segmentata lives with my belt and feathers in a large plastic container which is covered by a discreet cloth and lives in the dining room. My helmet gets wrapped in an old towel and lives inside the segmentata. My crest normally lies on a chair in the dining room. For some reason my bow and quiver of arrows also live in the dining room.

My shield stands against the understairs cupboard door (thus preventing the cat from getting into the cupboard via the somewhat loose door). My squamata and subarmalis normally hang on my son's sledge, which can normally be found standing on its end in the hallway. My first century soft kit is all packed into an old overnight bag and my fourth century kit is packed into a supermarket 'bag for life' and both these bags tend to sit on my folded toga in the corner of my son's room. My marching kit (furca, loculus, canteen, patera etc.) live in the opposite corner of the same room next to the wardrobe.
My sword, javelins and spear live in the study, along with various other bags and pouches and my feather transverse crest. My caligae can normally be found in the hallway next to various other pairs of more modern shoes and boots.

Does this sound disorganised?

But for the time being it is on display in the Thermenmuseum in Heerlen the Netherlands, as is my furca with everything on it on behalve of the expo "once there was a Roman road". Probably it will stay there one not in use.
