Cave of Letters bag - info?
#1
Some time back, I found a page with info on the leather bag that the Babatha (Babata) archive was found in, in the Cave of Letters in Israel. Stupidly, I did not bookmark it or copy it and now can't find it. I thought it was on Martin's site, but no - it's not... Can anyone give me a link?

Attached are photos of my interpretation (I put a shoulder strap and a "tongue" to close it, to make it usable as the original had no means to be closed or carried).

Some web search also leads me to believe there is a drawing of it on Plate 51, Fig. 58 in "The finds from the Bar Kokhba period in the Cave of Letters" by Yigael Yadin, which is not available online - can someone pls post it here?

I guess that's where it was, it's just that the page seems to be gone now.

Hi Pavel,

I think what you are looking for is right here on RAT:
http://www.romanarmytalk.com/rat.html?fu...&id=118302
Do you need more exact measurements than that?

(Your first impulse to go sutor.jimdo.com was basically right - only that I haven't put it up there yet :-P)

Thanks Martin, that's just the thing :-)
Apparently I saw it here, that's why I associated it with you and your site.
