Exercitus for spring 2005 nearly ready
#16
I still haven't heard anything from the Exercitvs "staff".
Peter Connolly recommended that I get and read his articles
in this journal, I am mystified as to why it seems impossible
to get any contact information, the website says to contact via
email, I have sent several emails, with no reply. I'd love to
get current and back issues. Anyone want to sell their spare copies?
My university libraries don't have copies, and the ancient history
department head hasn't heard of it, so perhaps these articles would be
even more helpful to some of my research!

Yes I have even used an alternate email address, in case the replies were being rejected by one of my primary emails, to no avail!!!!!!!!

What is up with this?

Any further news about why I can't get this?
Do I need to mail using the surface mail?
How much would it cost?
Are back issues available?
What address would I use?
Can a Western Union Money transfer or US Bank draft be accepted?

The guard should just set up a closed area of their site with a paypal shop and put the thing online. That'd be much easier for everyone. Big Grin
Greets!

Chris once told me to send a 3.5 pounds check to the ESG and automatically they will send me back the magazine.

But I haven't the postal address yet!

Faventianus, the address on their website is:

Ermine Street Guard, Oakland Farm, Dog Lane, Crickley Hill, Witcombe, Gloucester, GL3 4UG, UK

Good grief guys, isn't this sorted out yet? If it's still going by next year's Festival of History (August 2006), I'm tempted offer to take orders from those RAT members still trying to get hold of Exercitus and buy the copies from the ESG tent then distribute them. I've got access to Paypal, so could sort out credit card transactions for foreign payment. Or someone in the ESG, or perhaps any UK Early Roman, could volunteer to to do this? I'm Late Roman, and these 1st-2nd century chaps are ghosts to me; only see them a couple of times a year at most, and it freaks me out - they're sooo shiny 8)

I would be glad to devote time and effort to that project. I have a good scanner and would be glad to scan them in jpeg format or to convert them to e-document format.

I have written to the address, (last year) but never got an answer.
I would love to have someone get me copies of all available "Exercitus". I am in the USA. I can pay several ways, including sending you an Amazon gift certificate, or sending money via Western Express. I can also work out some for of barter. If anyone can help me , please contact me directly.
