Thought all you fellow students of gladiators would get a kick out of this traditional Russian icon done up in a nontraditional theme

The dolls are:
Myrmillo
Thraex
Provocator
Retiarius
Secutor
Doctores
Harenarius (sic)

Fabulous! Wouldn't mind that on the sideboard.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, Merlot in one hand, Cigar in the other; body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming "WOO HOO, what a ride!

Thank you. It helps keep me sane (or as sane as I'll ever be). I have also done WW II Leaders, Western armour through the ages, some Samurai, US Civil War (Union and Confederate) and I'm planning a "Roman infantryman through the ages" one (still figuring on whether to move forward or backward: i.e. make the largest doll 5th c. AD and work back in time with the smallest doll 3rd c. BC, or make the largest doll 3rd c. BC and work forward in time with the smallest doll 5th c. AD.)
