I agree with Aemilianus. Not only would they be difficult to wear with the senatorial boot, but to my knowledge, there is not a single depiction in Roman art of a general/senator/emperor wearing ocrae. That's not to say that it's not possible they did, but to be as accurate as possible I'd go without them. I think it will look better as well.

Alexand96: Boots it is! I don't mind being corrected. If the mistake goes as far as the foundry...that's when I'm in trouble and it's too late.

I really appreciate all the kind help on this project and with the details. I really hope to get the funds raised so we can excavate and protect the temple. Just getting the team equipped and the ground penetrating radar done will be very expensive.

If any of you have ideas on how to spread the word on the fund raising for the Art & Archaeology 2012 project, please let me know. We will add the names of anyone that helps on our website and send an invitation to you to visit the dig site for a private tour and evening with the archaeologists.

We want to make sure the site isn't plundered before it can be properly excavated.
