The humanity! Awful that someone may pay so much for so little authenticity.

Yes I'm a little surprised that KOA is stocking that abomination, actually the one they offer for $299.00 is much more authentic (by comparison).

I find it puzzling that people take the time and effort to produce items like this one, but apparently put no effort whatsoever into getting it right. :-?

They should have come to RAT first, a few minutes of research could have saved the world from such a hideous display.

Hey Stephanos, I don't think I know Dimitris, but his 5thc linothorax has a bronze chest plate. Do you remember a few years back I posted a fragment of bronze armor that looked exactly like the upper chest plate on his armor. Has he seen it? If not I can find the image again for him. I don't know if he created the plate because it is "logical" that one might exist, but it is always nice to see (what could be) the real thing existed.

"This composite construction will prevent the armor from falling apart or sweating through like a pure linen construction could."

One of the advantages of a linen constructiuon is that it helps to wick away sweat. These boofheads deliberately tried to stop that.

The most logical reconstruction that we used and tried is the model with or without scales.
We also tried the one with vertical plates. It works and it could be done but both me and Dimitris toy with the option of "vertical quilting".
We need to find time to put this idea against a members crossbow to see if it works though.

All armor types did well in grueling conditions of Biscupin. Both in endurance and comfort.

Arrows shot by various bows and crossbows from 10 paces against only a linen target from the same material as the armors did not penetrate. Some even bounced.

Sharpened kopis and large butcher knifes did not cut through. Same with axes, though I always speculate that an axe might still break bones even if it doesn't cut through.

Would I wear Dimitirs armor in battle? Yes.

Kind regards
