Roman Military Law
#1
Hi,
I'm searching for books and articles about Roman military law, but I'm not very successful. I've found just Brands "Roman Military Law" and a few articles.
Please, could you help me to find more about this topic?
Thank you.
Hi Jasper,
unfortunately I can't. My friend asked me for help. He has to write something about Roman military law (school), but he doesn't know anything about it. He prefers to look at the available material first and then to choose more specific branch.
I'm trying to find some general books about military law from which to choose. I'm sure, these will also contain further bibliography for selected topic.
Greetings
Well, there's of course interesting sourcematerial in the Digests. They include lots of juridical military issues.
Greets
Thank you. Of course he has to go "ad fontes". But now I'm looking for some modern works.
I would suggest "The Emperor and the Roman Army"by J. B. Campbell
