RAT goes MOBILE
#1
If you own an iPad - Pod - Phone and or one of the the variety of Android devices allowing you to browse the online world, you can now use the TapaTalk App to browse and interact on RAT. The App is not free, but once bought, you can use it for all forums on the web that have this software.
Greets!

The iPhone version gets high marks, but the current iPad version looks like a wait for the bug fix release.

Excellent news. Btw, I regularly access RAT using an IPad- what are the advantages of the new software?

You still can, just ignore the Tapatalk notice. I assume it works easier, but I have to admit I haven't tried it myself (using iPad now Big Grin )

Now it works, takes time to get used to this. I am usually using iPad and the default version works fine with me. I hope the rumours that in the iPad 3 version there is a bigger resolution is true...

Interesting stuff!
I have to say that on my samsung galaxay tab I get the full site absolutely fine. But I will keep an eye out for this app and try it out. Confusedmile:

Well. I normally access RAT on my venerable eleven year old iMac. I doubt that the app would work very well on the tablet I do have, which is a wooden one filled with beeswax.

Ah, digital roadkill; the best sort.

Accessing RAT on my Android phone is a tad fiddly and annoying when it attempts to get me to install an app specially for the purpose, when most CMSes have mobile templates that can be run in parallel with the main, screen-realestate-hungry format and which will automatically detect the form factor trying to access it. There comes a point where an app that does what a website does is plain silly (unless, like Amazon, you are using it to circumvent Apple's tricks, or there is genuine added value... a huge bribe, say ;-)).

Now you know how I feel about any discussion of the Late Roman Army. That's why I created The Good Dr Coulston in my cloning lab...

I've temporarily turned this plugin off. It might be involved in the various errors that have been plagueing the forum recently.
