Mystery warrior - Can anyone help identify this?
#1
Hello,
I found this photo and it had "hoplite" as the tag.
Is this type of armor from a particular city state or period.
I seems strange to me because of the ears....anyone?
I figure if you fellows can't identify it, no one can. ;-)

The armor is bases on items from the Museum of Olympia.
The helmet on an item from Geneva Museum of art.

A number of "bull-head" korinthian helemts has been exavated from south Italy.

This type of equipment was carried by hoplites from 800 B.C. to 500 B.C.

More info are spread through various sections in the Greek Military History and in Reconstruction threads

Kind regards

Fantastic! THANK YOU! The ears and the plate on the thigh really threw me off. I have seen the high crests before, but the double was new for me. I am trying to learn as much as I can. Again, THANKS Smile
