Hy!
I was researching about the ornaments on dress in time of the late Lt D2 - early republican time (ab. 20 BC - time of my impression).
Mostly are the clothes without ornaments - but on some forums (board Flavii) some reenactors means, that in the traditional way goes to use the ornaments on the dress like sagum, paenula, etc.. and actually: i saw some roman reenactors of the Gallo-roman time with ornaments on the dress.
But what means "traditional way" of dress? I am doing celtic warrior of the high class with complete warefare equipment, but in the time of Lt D2 we don't know any evidence about the ornaments on the dress. Some good reenactors means, that it goes bands in that style:
- monochrome, tablet-weaving, (normal pattern)
- monochrome, tablet-weaving, twill (argument: this kind of the technique should to be known in roman time because mostly of the later roman time and early medievale time based on this style of tablet-weaving patterns)
- some reenactors means, it goes bands in kamm weben technique, i mean this way:

Here in forum flinkhand i opened similarry theme some months ago.
What dou you think, has anybody any suggestion on this topic?
I have two ab. 10 m kamm-weben-bands, foto:

Will be this bands good for sagum or paenula in the time ab. 20 BC or should i have items without ornaments or should i use monochrome bands?
Thank you for any suggestions.
Joze
