A new early roman \"Lippe-Lager\" at Olfen (D) ?!
#16
Wait .....
......by postulating they "housed" in a "triple shift "(3 x 8 hours = 24 hours  )?! Confusedhock:
......by letting them play football there ,24 hours-a-day(--- why else should they have made it 7 football fields large, >posting 298793),-- those romans ?!
Seriously ?!
---Ahmmm, -- hold it, during the last few hours I read somewhere that one person claimed humankind had survived 12000 years because the underground was "swisscheesed" with a coherent system of passages -- some folks really do need NO drugs, don't they ?!
Hey, but along the Lippe there must have been even more camps.
Time for another couple of "Jahrhundertsensationen" ( Sensations of the century ) .

I'm not sure why they're calling this "the last missing link". :? Here's Jona's excellent Romans-on-the-Lippe map showing the approximate position of Olfen:

I'd be looking around Herzfeld to close the huge gap between Oberaden and Anreppen. Confusedhock:

We're not allowed 'battlefields' in the UK any more, we have to have 'conflict landscape archaeology'. Always a bad sign when the English substantives are longer than the German :-( Reminds me of when I was told in a prehistory course 'we don't talk about trade, we talk about exchange mechanisms'...

Saw a post in another forum which show the location, and some intriguing gaps still left in the system, which could conveniaently locate another camp, or even a fort!
Must be great to have these virgin locations to discover.

Actually I thought at the start this wil lay somewhere between Anreppen and Oberaden so it would have been a missing link
