Any corrosive chemical can be used to force the aging. The give-away is usually the even distribution of the corrosive effect as evidenced on this helmet.

I used to do Vietnam gear and my mate did world war two american infantry gear.....it was a minefield on e-bay unless you really...i mean really knew your stuff..sorry to say but there are a lot of people out there only to make money.

what a shame.
all of that effort put into destroying a modern repro, when that time and energy could have been put into
modifying the helmet to make it "passable".
the lengths some people go to make a buck or two.
